Trisha (she/her) is a rising senior at Â鶹ӰÊÓ majoring in neuroscience. She has been a part of Health Bridges for three years and is excited to bond with members and community partners through their passion for improving access to healthcare. In addition to being a part of the Health Bridges community, Trisha enjoys planning speaker events with the Pomona Student Union and researching Parkinson’s using flies in a lab. When she’s not working, she loves spending time with friends and family, hunting for cute cafes, and writing songs!

My name is Katie (she/her), and I am a senior at Pomona majoring in Romance Languages and Literatures and minoring in Linguistics. I am one of the coordinators for Learning in Collaboration (LINC), which means I get to help connect 5C students with local elementary schools, where they serve as volunteer tutors. I am passionate about increasing access to education, which is one of the things that makes LINC so special to me. When I'm not at the Draper Center or studying for a class, you can often find me buying way too many plants, reading my book, trying to learn a new language, or exploring local Little Free Libraries.

I am Isaac (he/him) a coordinator of the ESL+ program at the Draper Center. My major is Economics and my minor is philosophy. Beyond my classes I like to work on my printmaking, try new foods and stay active in different ways.

Emily (she/her) is a senior at Scripps majoring in biology/physics and co-coordinator for Health Bridges! She joined Health Bridges in her freshman year and participates in both the Hospital Task and Community Partnerships pods. Her favorite memory from Health Bridges is trying Otai, a Tongan smoothie-like drink, for the first time at the annual Kisina Health Fair! In her free time, Emily enjoys finding yummy food spots in LA and eating mango-based desserts. She also has recently picked up bouldering and ballroom dancing!

Hi y’all! My name is Cece (she/her), and I’m a senior here at Pomona! My plan is to graduate this May with a major in anthropology and a minor in French. This is my third year coordinating for both PAYS and LINC—two incredible programs that I am so grateful to be a part of. When I’m not in class or at Draper, I can often be found at 5C Taekwondo club, Oldenborg French tables, attempting to keep my plants alive, or exploring LA’s most wonderful independent bookstores.

Erubey Lopez (he/him) is a senior at Â鶹ӰÊÓ studying Linguistics. Originally from Hyde Park, Vermont, he enjoys being outside, running, sewing, and playing GeoGuessr. With the Draper Center, he served as a PAYS Community Advisor in the summer of 2023. Rejoining the PAYS team as a coordinator, he is thrilled to be a part of the community!

Hi friends! My name is Aisulu Malik (she/her) (ice-a-loo) and I use she/her pronouns. I am from Rapid City, SD, and I coordinate for the lovely LINC program.This year at Pomona, I will finish my linguistics degree (knock on wood) and continue my Russian-learning journey. Throughout my academic career, I have witnessed firsthand the impact - both positive and negative - that adult figures in the classroom can have on the self-esteem and success of students. Through LINC, I am able to assist students in growing their confidence and communication in the classroom to aid them towards success. As a prospective speech-language pathologist, LINC has made me aspire to work with young children in the public school system. In my free time, I love to read, do ballroom dance, and journal!

Hi, my name is Daniel (they/them) and I am a Chicane DJ, Music Historian, Curator, and Archivist from Chicago, Illinois! I am a PCCEC coordinator. I love working to build community, whether it be through DJing, chatting with people informally, or sharing a good meal. My work focuses on drawing connections between the origins of queer of color subcultures and their legacies within contemporary culture. Through this, I hope to work towards imagining and working to build a freer, more joyful world.

Hi! My name is Valentina (she/her) and I am a senior at Â鶹ӰÊÓ studying Economics. I grew up in São Paulo, Brazil and have been volunteering at the ESL+ Program since 2022!

My name is Joana (she/her), and I am a senior, first-generation college student majoring in Linguistics (on premedical track) at Â鶹ӰÊÓ. I was born and raised in South Central LA, and I'm happy to be a Health Bridges coordinator this year! Having experienced health disparities first-hand and its impact on the people I love, I joined Health Bridges in the efforts to provide more accessible health resources. In the future, I plan to be a practicing physician providing accessible, cultural-competent care to the communities in South Central LA. Outside of Health Bridges work, I love trying new foods/skincare, reading, dancing, and being silly with friends. I am a dog mom to 2 cute dogs. I also love going to the beach and exploring new places when I can!

Hi everyone! My name is Adriana (she/her) and I’m a senior (ahhh!) at Pomona double majoring in Psychological Sciences and Chicanx-Latinx Studies. I call San Bernardino, CA my home right here in the I.E. and I try to give back as much as I can, which is why you’ll find me at Draper a lot of the time. I’m involved with PAYS and I’ve led a couple of Alternabreak trips in the past! This year you can also find me at other places like CSWIM as the attached Writing Partner for the ID1 course Chicanx/Latinx L.A or as a volunteer for other Draper programs like LEAF. Besides working on 2 theses this year, you can catch me either hyper-focusing on creating music playlists for literally anything and everything, trying to scrapbook and journal, reminiscing about my study abroad experience, or going to concerts and shows. My favorite snacks are spicy chips, Arizona teas, and Nerds Gummy Clusters!

Hi y’all! My name is Max (he/him) and I am a 3rd year transfer student majoring in African Studies and minoring in Gender Studies at Pomona. I coordinate for PCCEC. I was born in Virginia, raised in Wisconsin, and have lived here in California for almost 7 years. Having lived in all major regions of the US, California is by far the best! I really enjoy playing video games, reading, and anything in nature (especially backpacking). However, on campus you’re really likely to find me in the library or the gym or the dining hall I’m a huge foodie. I also thoroughly enjoy community engagement in whatever venue it may be. Community has always held an important place in my life; whether it be advocacy, engagement, or even just hanging out! I look forward to participating in and working for the community in which I live.

Hi hi! my name is Werlie (she/her) and I am a Junior from Orlando, Florida, studying PPE, with an Africana studies minor. I am a coordinator for Sista2Sista. I grew up in predominantly black spaces always surrounded by other black women and sisterhood. So, I wanted to give that experience of sisterhood to other black women who are not as fortunate as me to be able to grow and be in spaces where they can authentically be themselves. My favorite pastimes are crocheting, dancing, and watching an unhealthy amount of TV.

Hey everyone! My name is Lawrence Stampino-Strain (he/him) and I am a junior at Â鶹ӰÊÓ. I will be serving as a coordinator for Pomona Partners for my second semester in a row, and I am beyond excited to continue engaging with younger students through the program. Outside of the Draper Center, I am a member of the 5C Men's Volleyball Club team, I'm an RA, and I mentor classes for math and computer science (my favorite subjects!). I always try to keep a positive attitude and spread as many smiles as I can, so feel free to say hello if you see me around!

Hi! I’m Paul Yan (they/he), a junior at Â鶹ӰÊÓ majoring in Public Policy Analysis/Economics and minoring in Asian American Studies. I’m from Miami and Hong Kong. Alongside being a co-coordinator for LEGS at the Draper Center, I’ve loved working with PAYS for the last two summers as a TA. I'm extremely grateful to be able to be a mentor, especially to students coming from a similar background as I hope they can feel a sense of empowerment and know they are capable of anything they put their minds to! I love to listen to music, watch the stars, and eat everything. My favorite artists are SZA, BTS, Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, and PinkPantheress! My favorite foods are dumplings, sashimi, guacamole, and hot pot!
 

Hello! My name is Stefanie Howard (she/her). I am currently a junior at Â鶹ӰÊÓ majoring in Neuroscience . I coordinate volunteers for the Food Recovery Network. I am from a rural town in Indiana. I joined the FRN because as a first-gen low-income student I am familiar with the hopelessness of food insecurity. Many people in my community have supported my family and I when circumstances were tough. Through my actions with the FRN I can pass forward my community‘s generosity while affirming for others what it means to have a community that supports you.

Hey yall, my name is Leonardo Torres (he/him) but most people just call me Leo for short. I use he//him pronouns and I was born in LA but grew up in San Bernardino, CA (which is just around 30 minutes away). I am involved with the PAYS and Pomona Partners program. This is my second year being a coordinator so I am very excited to see what this year will surprise me with! I am a junior at Â鶹ӰÊÓ and am majoring in Computer Science with a potential minor in mathematics and data science. In my free time I like to walk around and hang with friends, usually going to get boba (specifically brown sugar milk tea) and shopping at Daiso is my favorite combination. I have always loved doing community work so that is what drives me to continue being program coordinators for PAYS and Pomona Partners, I was also a PAYS Scholar from 2019-2022 so it feels great to give back to this wonderful group. Outside of the Draper Center, I am also working as a Computer Science Mentor so you will see me spend most of my time in Edmunds either studying or helping others.

I’m an avid reader and animal lover, and here at Pomona, I really enjoy spending time with friends. I became a coordinator for S2S and PAYS because I want to be a figure younger people can look up to and guide/help them in whatever areas they need.

Hi! I'm Tati (she/her/ella) and I am a Junior at Â鶹ӰÊÓ. I am majoring in Public Policy Analysis (PPA) with a concentration in Chicanx/Latinx Studies! (CLS) I was born and raised in the Mission District of San Francisco, CA, and I am of Central American descent. At Draper, I coordinate for Next Level, a mentorship program where we support local high school students in planning life after high school. As a product of programs like Next Level, my interest in coordinating aligns with my passion for access to equitable education and resources for all BIPOC youth and their families. Nonetheless, outside the office, I like to bead jewelry, be in nature, and be grounded in community/be with my loved ones!

I have coordinated for Rooftop Garden since the spring semester of my freshmen year! Besides the Draper Center, I am also involved in the Asian American Mentorship Program, Asian American Resource Center, and First-Generation Low-Income Scholars Club. In my free time, I enjoy creative writing, video editing, playing the flute, and, of course, gardening.

Hello! My name is Ireland Griffin (she/her), and I am a coordinator for the Food Recovery Network/Hunger & Housing Initiatives! I am a sophomore at Pomona studying Public Policy Analysis with a Gender & Women's Studies Concentration (with a politics minor!), and I am originally from Austin, Texas. Issues of hunger and housing have been deeply integral in shaping my academic and professional journey, and the capacity that FRN & HHI have for providing support and resources for communities that are continually ignored is so amazing. In my free time, I love going to concerts, reading poetry, trying new cafes (and making coffee on my espresso machine!), and spending time with my cat, Kilby!

Hi! I’m Miriam Clement y Caridad (she/they), a sophomore at Pomona college majoring in Theatre and Spanish. I’m from Claremont, CA (a local!!). I am a co-coordinator for LEGS at the Draper Center and i’m a PAYS alumni. I have a deep passion for everything theatre, including makeup, costume design and directing. I also really enjoy the arts and the type of community it brings. I also love horror movies and thrift shopping. :)

Hello! I’m Rachel (she/her) and I’m a sophomore at Â鶹ӰÊÓ. I’m majoring in PPE Philosophy with a media studies minor. I was born and raised in San Francisco, went to high school in Santa Barbara, and now live in LA. California has my heart! I’m a coordinator for Pomona Partners because I have always loved kids and used to volunteer with a similar program in high school. Outside of Draper, I am also on the OTL staff and the founder of the Taylor Swift Fan Club! I love the outdoors, photography, pickleball, and food.

Hello! My name is Jimena (she/her). I am a current second year at Scripps College pursuing a degree in mathematics and a potential minor in either economics or data science. I am very excited to work with PAYS as their coordinator this year! As someone from a low income, first generation background, I am looking forward to working with students through their academic journeys. Being PAYS alum has greatly impacted my college success, and I cannot wait to give back and help other students. My hometown is Ontario (California not Canada!). During my free time, you can find me crocheting, organizing my stuffed animal collection, learning how to lift, or baking!

Hi! My name is Sarah Muller (she/her) and I am a sophomore at Scripps College. I am from Arcadia, CA (30 minutes from Claremont!) and I'm a co-coordinator for LINC. I am a Psychology major and a potential Linguistics minor with hopes of one day going into child psychology. Outside of Draper, I am a part of ballroom (CCBDC), Scripps OWL, and the Claremont Concert Orchestra. In my free time I'm either on a hike, reading, or struggling on a double bass piece in a practice room!
 

Hi, my name is Matthew (he/him) and I am a sophomore at Pomona double majoring in neuroscience and music. I’m from Los Angeles, California, and I’m excited to be a coordinator for Music Mentors this year! I have been playing both violin and piano since a young age and have always loved sharing my love of music with younger students, as well as performing for those who may not have access to live music. Music Mentors is the perfect community for 5C students to teach music to younger kids and inspire them to discover their own passion for it. In addition to music, I enjoy playing and watching sports and hanging out with friends.

Hey! My name is Denise (she/her/ella) and I am a second-year at Claremont Mckenna College. I am from Ontario, California. I am majoring in psychology and Chicanx/Latinx studies. I like to thrift and do fun projects that involve art. As a first-gen, low income Latine I understand the importance of having mentors and hope to give back by coordinating for the Latine-Identity Empowerment, Advice, and Friendship (LEAF) program.

Hola! I am Alexa (she/ella), a junior at Pomona majoring in Linguistics. I am from San Bernardino, CA(yayy IE!!) and have been working at the Draper Center since Spring of 2023. I coordinate for the LEAF program, and am excited to come back to coordinate again. I love coordinating for LEAF because I am able to provide other Latine students with guidance as they navigate their K-12 education, while also building community with other Latines from the 5C's. In my free time, I like to read, watch movies or shows(especially horror and k-dramas) and occasionally play tennis. 
 

Hi everyone! My name is Isabela (she/her)(but you can call me Izzy!), and I use she/her pronouns. I'm a senior at Pomona majoring in Psychological Science and minoring/majoring in French! My family is originally from Colombia (Cali and Bogotá), but I was born in London and grew up in the DC area (Maryland!). This is my first year as a coordinator for PAYS, though I've worked with PAYS over the last two summers :) While at Pomona, I've also been involved with Oldenborg as a French/Spanish Language Partner and recently started working with Professor Masland's PPPR lab (in the Psych department). In my free time, I often enjoy running, biking, and swimming (and sometimes putting them all together in triathlons!), crocheting, reading, playing games on the switch (currently Zelda BOTW), building legos, playing board games, taking power naps, and hanging out with my dog, Nala!

I'm Lauren (she/her), a current Sophomore at Scripps College majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics! The program I coordinate for is music mentors which focuses on teaching children how to play various instruments. Music has always been one of my biggest passions as I sing, song-write, and produce music in my spare time, so I'm really happy to be sharing my love of music to hopefully foster a connection with the local community. :)
