The CARES office provides comprehensive, prevention and education programs that are tailored to the College’s community and concerns. The office strives to provide comprehensive prevention programming early and in an ongoing manner so that the education is integrated into the life and culture of the College. Some of the sample resources include:
- Training and consultation
- Hate and bias education support
- Consent education
- Bystander intervention
- Risk reduction and self-empowerment strategies
Student programs include:
- CARES Peer Educators are student staff employed, trained and supervised by the CARES Office to provide prevention and educational programs and events for the campus community.
- The Â鶹ӰÊÓ Women’s Union is a student-led program located on the second floor of Walker Lounge and is dedicated to providing safe space and programming involving all genders, tailored to the diverse needs of women. The mission of the Women’s Union is to secure positive changes for women in their personal and political lives and to work toward deconstructing gender-based constraints within both local and global contexts.
