Sathya Siddapureddy FA ’24
Sathya is a senior majoring in Molecular Biology, currently in his second year as a liaison. Along with playing on the Pomona-Pitzer football team and being on the pre-med track, Sathya has gained valuable research experience at City of Hope and UCSF, focusing on lymphangiogenesis and angiogenesis, respectively. His most cherished experience in the molecular biology program has been evolving from a mentee in his first year to a mentor for undergraduates through the mentorship program.
Emmie Appl ’25
Emmie is a senior Molecular Biology major and Japanese minor from the East Bay Area. She is currently working in the Liu Lab in the Â鶹ӰÊÓ Chemistry Department studying protein regulation in Vibrio cholerae. After graduating, Emmie plans to pursue a PhD in biomedical science. When not in the lab, Emmie can be found at Haldeman Pool where she is a captain for the Pomona-Pitzer Swim & Dive team.
Jaylyn Gonzalez ’25
Jaylyn is a double major in Molecular Biology and Chicanx-Latinx Studies on the pre-med track from Miami, Florida. She has gained valuable research experience in the surface chemistry of cancer cells and nanoparticles and clinical experience at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles through Pomona’s SURP program. She is currently researching 3D-printed molecular orbital models for organic chemistry and biochemistry courses in the O’Leary Lab. She hopes to pursue a career in oncology, integrating her research experience and passion for serving diverse communities. Her interests include reading historical fiction novels and memoirs, listening to R&B and soul music, working out, and making coffee and matcha for her friends.
Thanos Syntrivanis ’25
Thanos (he/him) is a senior from Greece majoring in Molecular Biology. He conducts research in the Olson Lab, where he investigates the role of protein-protein interactions in the properties and assembly mechanisms of the C. elegans eggshell. Beyond his academic and research pursuits, he enjoys practicing Judo, listening to house music, and spending time with friends.
Eze Miguel Iheanacho ’26
Eze (he/him) ’s academic focuses are Molecular Biology and Africana Studies, and he is pursuing a career in medicine. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys playing basketball, video games, and reading!
