The 麻豆影视 Museum of Art is pleased to announce Documenting China, a grant and exhibition program designed to support student research through the production of videos exploring China in contemporary America. Students should feel free to address this theme from a broad range of perspectives鈥攅conomic, historical, social, or political. Topics might include Chinese products; Chinese art, performance or visual culture; and lines of infrastructure and communication linking China and the US, diasporic Chinese culture. Projects could engage profiles of specific individuals or places; they could be personal narratives about visiting China, poetic or expository documentaries, or even docu-dramas. Applications may be made for video projects undertaken as course work.
Four grants of $300 will be awarded to students of The Claremont Colleges to support the production of a 5- 10 minute video. Projects must be completed by April 4 and the completed videos available for screening in the Museum at the conclusion of 鈥淐hina: Insights.鈥
