March 19 marks the seventh year of the war in Yemen, a date commemorated this year with a special screening of short films by seven Yemeni filmmakers. This screening begins on Friday, March 19, at 4:30 pm PDT / 7 pm EDT / 6 am Yemen with the premiere of the videos Conflict Is More Profitable Than Peace and مهجر // Mahjar by the Yemeni-Bosnian multi-media artist and filmmaker Alia Ali. Ali, currently featured in the Benton Museum of Art’s , will then discuss her work—and discourses of Yemeni futurism—with Dave Serio, the film curator at the Arab American National Museum.
