Gabrielle Starr, author of Feeling Beauty: The Neuroscience of Aesthetic Experience, will discuss the ways that human beings encode and understand faces and bodies in aesthetic experiences. Her talk will reference the recent portraits of the Obamas and the ways that style becomes the battleground for claims about pleasure, beauty, disgust, and beyond. Offered in conjunction with the exhibition Muse: Mickalene Thomas Photographs and ³Ùê³Ù±ð-à -³Ùê³Ù±ð.
